ORIENTATION PROGRAM: Guiding the Future Innovators 2023

The Department of Civil Engineering held its annual orientation program, a crucial two-hour session. Aimed at familiarizing the new batch of 120 students with departmental regulations, faculty introductions, and disciplinary essentials. Insight: Ten dedicated department staff members graciously imparted essential information and set the tone for a successful academic journey for our
newcomers. It serves as a compass, outlining rules, regulations, faculty insights, and disciplinary norms for those stepping into this year’s cohort. With an assembly of around 120 students, this informative session was orchestrated by a panel of 10 dedicated department staff members.

Webinar: Exploring Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Civil Engineering

In line with our commitment to providing holistic education, the Department of Civil Engineering organized an enlightening webinar titled “Entrepreneur Opportunity in Civil Engineering” on the 5th of May 2022. This webinar was designed to provide valuable insights into entrepreneurial prospects within the realm of Civil Engineering. Distinguished Guest Speaker, Dr. Ashok Kumaravel, shared invaluable knowledge and experiences, enlightening both students and faculty members. The webinar served as a platform for dynamic discussions, shedding light on the potential avenues and opportunities in the field. The engaging session aimed to inspire and encourage our students to explore innovative paths, fostering an entrepreneurial spirit within our budding engineers.These endeavors epitomize our dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals, providing them with not only academic excellence but also fostering a sense of leadership and entrepreneurship.

Association Day – “SMART WORLD TRANSPORTATION”

We commenced our Association Day under the theme of BUILD-UP with an insightful presentation titled “Smart World Transportation” by Mr. Abner Gulman, a seasoned consultant at Bahwan Cybertek with extensive experience in Rail and Metro Technology. The event began with an opening prayer led by Victor Emmanuel, followed by a vibrant welcome address by Aman Kumar, a spirited 2nd-year student. Aman not only welcomed everyone warmly but also delved into the evolution of transportation from its inception to the present day.

Technical Symposium

The Department of Civil Engineering at GEMS Polytechnic College hosted a dynamic Technical Symposium exclusively catering to our second-year students. The event featured competitions encompassing Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, and a gripping Quiz Competition. The winners, from events held in August, were duly recognized on September 3rd, receiving certificates and prizes. The respective event in-charges were Mr. Victor Emmanuel for Paper Presentation, Mr. Sujin for Poster Presentation, and Mrs. Chinthiya for the
Quiz Competition. This symposium wasn’t just an event; it was an arena where intellect and creativity converged. It comprised a trio of engaging competitions: the eloquence of Paper Presentation, the visual impact of Poster Presentation, and the quick-witted challenge of the Quiz Competition.

Build-Up Function 2020

As we conducted our department association “Build-Up” function on 04-March-2020 in our college seminar hall. Our Chief Guest Mr. Ranjit Sinha, our Director Mr. Ashish Daniel, our Principal Mr. Timothy Challa and HOD Mr. Samuel Prakash Swami preceded in the program. Our program started my plantation of plant by our Hon. Chief Guest, Hon. Director and Principal.

Our Director spoke about Role of Civil Engineering in present scenario. Then our HOD addressed
the necessity and objectives of the program “Build Up”.
